Tomas Berdych (left) and Dmitry TursunovAustralian Open champions Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram extended their winning streak to nine matches by defeating Frenchmen Julien Benneteau and Nicolas Mahut 6-2, 5-7, 10-6 in Rotterdam Friday.

Erlich and Ram have now reached the semifinals or better in three of the four tournaments they have played in 2008. They next face Tomas Berdych and Dmitry Tursunov (pictured), who defeated Robin Haase and Peter Wessels 6-1, 6-4.

Playing their first event since reaching the Australian Open semifinals, Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles suffered a surprising loss to Americans Scott Lipsky and David Martin. Bhupathi and Knowles, teaming permanently for the first time this season, served for the match at 5-4 in the second set but could not close it out, eventually falling 2-6, 7-6(5), 10-8.
